Asia Pacific Microsystems names Mr. Jao as President

Asia Pacific Microsystems, Inc. (APM); Paving the way toward MEMS production, today announced the appointment of Mr. KH Jao as president and chief executive officer.

Jan. 1, 2015 - Hsinchu, Taiwan - Asia Pacific Microsystems, Inc. (APM); Paving the way toward MEMS production, today announced the appointment of Mr. KH Jao as president and chief executive officer. Mr. Jao is a Hsinchu Science Park veteran, with over 20 years of experiences in semiconductor and MEMS industry.  He joined APM in 2001 to set up the automated MEMS facilities, and was managing the process integration team for developing MEMS production technology.  He has been in charge of Foundry Service Division and MEMS manufacturing since 2007.  Mr. Jao holds a Master degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in Taiwan. 

Mr. Jao replaces Dr. YH Tsai who held the position of president in the past seven years.  Dr. YH Tsai will continue serving as a senior advisor in the company.  During Dr. Tsai’s tenure, APM transfers to its current position as a pure-play MEMS wafer foundry, with leading customers in Europe, United States and Asia.
 
APM currently serves as a key foundry partner in MEMS manufacturing for various customers’ product ranging from pressure sensors, optical sensors, bio-sensors and microphone to the specific microstructures for optical communications. Over years, the company accumulates various experiences in brand new MEMS development & production, existing MEMS production outsourcing, alternative foundry production, and process development.  Currently, APM owns a 27,000 square foot 6-inch MEMS fab capable to produce 12 thousand 6-inch wafers monthly.  For more information, please visit www.apmsinc.com.
